New Delhi: The Mumbai Indians secured their place in the Indian Premier League 2017 final, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders convincingly Friday. Regarding the team’s performance, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Yuvraj Singh said KKR should hold the head high after its loss for a clinical side of the MI.
The double between two of the most consistent teams in the competition saw the side of Gautam Gambhir collapse and Rohit Sharma set up a final clash with Rising Pune Supergiant.

Yuvraj, who moved away from the competition with Hyderabad after suffering a defeat at Gambhir’s Kolkata in the Eliminator round, said: “One of the best sides of the @ipl @kkr can stand high @ clinical performance, Hopefully, a last comin soon. ”

Mumbai lost three first wickets in their pursuit before skipper Rohit Sharma (26) and Krunal Pandya (45 not released) put 54 races to bring the team to the fourth final of the IPL.

But it was Sharma’s wrist epilators who set up the victory for Mumbai, who had lost the first qualifying match for Pune after completing the league phase as a table-toppers.

Suryakumar Yadav (31) and Ishank Jaggi (28) placed 56 runs for the sixth wicket, but an inspired attack from Mumbai did not allow the advantage to escape the Bangalore M Chinnaswamy stadium.

Jasprit Bumrah (3-7) and Mitchell Johnson (2-28) shared five wins between them while the duo combined to clear Kolkata’s tail.

Kolkata, who had excluded the defending champion, Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator, announced nine wins and seven defeats in 16 games.

While Mumbai is pursuing his third IPL title in season 10 of the rich-cash league, Pune issues his maiden victory in Hyderabad on Sunday.
